Cinque Terre and Piedmont Wine Trails

6 days tour for couples or group of friends

Smart package designed for the independent traveler based on a private basis and participation to some group sightseeing to discover the Cinque Terre, a series of colorful, coastal villages that have stood for centuries overlooking the Italian Riviera. Taste the sumptuous seafood caught by locals and served up in their rustic trattorias, before heading inland to discover the delights of Piedmont—with a stop in glamorous Portofino along the way—one of Italy’s most famous wine producing areas. Literally meaning “at the foot of the mountain”, Piedmont is situated in the shadow of the Alps, and is populated by endless hill top hamlets, boutique wineries and countless places to eat authentic Italian cuisine peculiar to the region. From the sparkling wines of Asti to the small, rustic, independent producers you’ll visit in the charming areas of Langhe and Roero, and even the town of Barolo which gives its name to ‘The King of Wines’ there is plenty to discover (and sample!) on a trip to Piedmont.. Also to make it even further a great value for money we only included breakfast and some taste, as we think that is important to leave the rest of the meals to the personal discovery and taste, of course with the suggestions of our ground staff if required…

Independent arrival at Cinque Terre. Overnight in Portovenere. (B)

The beautiful sea village of Portofino with its an ancient marine culture is beloved by artists, famous personages, and writers that have long sung its praises. “A small village, Portofino, stretches crescent-shaped along the edge of this calm bay.” Thus wrote Guy de Maupassant when describing Portofino, tiny sea village on the Italian Riviera surrounded by the green of lush hills and pristine waters. Santa Margherita Ligure, is a beautiful town on the Italian Riviera and one of the more famous and elegant seaside resorts in Italy. The resort is east of Portofino Promontory, in a picturesque cove in the centre and in the innermost part of Tigullio Bay, halfway between Portofino and Rapallo. The town is surrounded by hills covered in splendid Mediterranean vegetation, on which are villas and gardens with breathtaking views over the Costa dei Delfini, which joins Santa Margherita and Portofino.  Upon your arrival at your hotel in Barolo Region, enjoy a gourmet dinner “Piedmont style”. Day 4 – Vergne, La Morra and Alba

Great wines are made all over the region, but the key area, just an hour’s drive from Turin, is the Langhe and Roero, separated by the winding Tanaro river.” ( The Guardian). For food and wine lovers this area is the height of excellence, ideal for relaxing and enjoying the good life amidst nature, art, the epicurean’s favorite hobby of wining and dining.
