Accept the invitation to enjoy Florence cuisine like a local. Immerse yourself in the tastes and aromas of Italian cuisine on a guided walking tour with a professional chef. Discover little shops selling authentic ingredients and typical gourmet Tuscan products, and your taste buds will explode with the rich flavours of true provincial produce.
Accompanied by our passionate chef, you will ramble through the historic old town, stumbling upon authentic Bottegas. There you will experience tasting gourmet Tuscan products, with the opportunity to buy the freshest ingredients for your cooking class. Next, we’ll cross the river to visit more Bottegas in Oltrano district, the historic part of town.
You and this small VIP group will receive the undivided attention of a professional chef throughout the tour. Then we will reach our extraordinary kitchen to start this hands-on cooking class, in the heart of Florence. Wear your apron and concentrate on the chef’s instructions. Start mixing and kneading your pasta, chopping your ingredients, and grinding your pesto. This will all be done by hand; no machines are permitted in this typical Italian kitchen. Depending on the time of year and the fresh produce available, the menu may vary. Typically, though it will include Gnocchi, which is home-made potato pasta, along with your own hand-made pesto. Then maybe another pasta dish, for example, Cannelloni Fiorentini. Unlike the dry tubes you buy in the shops, these are more like a delicious crepe with a ricotta cheese and spinach layer, topped with a fresh tomato sauce. And you will learn the secrets of a perfect risotto, cooking along with the chef.
As a perfect dessert, you could be making a light and fluffy ricotta mousse with a variety of toppings. All this with tastings and pairings of the best wines Tuscany has to offer.Great fun will be had whether you are an amateur or an expert cook, with handy tips from the chef, along with meeting some like-minded people. Imagine serving these new Italian creations to your family and friends when you get home. The famous Florence City Guide Book is our gift to you, including the recipes for the dishes that you have created, and ideas of more trips and activities to enjoy in our historic piece of Tuscany.
